The federation itself, of course, is based upon a sprit of tolerance and collabration between its members, while tolerance can be seen too in the encouragement of friendly relations between the various communities and beliefs that are to be found within the UAE's multi-cultural population.

There is tolerance, too, with relation to the policy towards the environment, where the preservation of nature and wildlife is encouraged as part of the recognition of the fact that mankind must co-exit with nature now, as in the past, to ensure the preservation of both for the future.

Externally, the country's foreign policy is based upon mutual tolerance and respect, both within the Arabian Gulf and the middle East and futher afield, with the underlying objective of contributing towards the creation of a more peaceful world, where instability and poverty can be reduced.
